Ethical Code for the Publication of Contributions in the Scientific Journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia

(This Ethical Code has been prepared in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the publication ethics principles of Elsevier, and the internal regulations of the Faculty.)

1. Fundamental Principles of Publication Ethics of the Journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia

The scientific journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia  is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, professionalism, transparency, and objectivity throughout the entire publication process. This Ethical Code defines the rules of conduct for all parties involved in the publication process, in particular authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

The purpose of this Ethical Code is to ensure a high scientific quality of published contributions, to prevent unethical practices, and to protect the credibility and reputation of the journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia.

The journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia applies a double-blind peer review process, which guarantees impartial and objective evaluation of manuscripts based solely on their scientific quality, methodological rigor, and contribution to knowledge.

2. Ethical Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia bear full responsibility for the content of their submissions. They are required to submit exclusively original scientific works based on honestly conducted research, accurate data, and appropriate analytical methods.

Authors must present research results accurately, comprehensively, and without deliberate distortion. The methodology, source data, and analytical procedures must be described in sufficient detail to allow verification or reproducibility of the research. Upon request by the editorial board, authors are required to provide source data and to retain such data for an appropriate period after publication.

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, unauthorized reproduction of texts, paraphrasing without proper citation, as well as the misappropriation of the results of other authors’ research are considered serious breaches of publication ethics. The journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia  reserves the right to verify the originality of submitted manuscripts using available plagiarism-detection software.

Authors must not submit the same or substantially similar manuscripts simultaneously to more than one journal. If a significant error or inaccuracy is identified in a published article, authors are obliged to promptly inform the editorial board and actively cooperate in correcting, supplementing, or retracting the article.

Authorship must accurately reflect the actual intellectual contribution of each author. All co-authors must be familiar with the final version of the manuscript, approve it, and agree to its submission for publication.

3. Responsibilities of the Editorial Board and the Editorial Process

The editorial board of the scientific journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia is responsible for managing the publication process in accordance with this Ethical Code and applicable legal and institutional regulations. Decisions regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts are based exclusively on expert reviewers’ reports and the scientific quality of the submitted contributions.

Editors are required to evaluate manuscripts impartially, objectively, and without any form of discrimination, taking into account their originality, methodological quality, contribution to scientific knowledge, and alignment with the journal’s scope.

All information related to submitted manuscripts is considered confidential. Editors must not misuse unpublished data, information, or ideas obtained through the peer review process for their own research or personal benefit.

4. Ethics and Rules of the Peer Review Process

Reviewers of the journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of published scientific work and safeguarding the academic integrity of the journal. Their review reports must be prepared in a professional, objective, constructive manner and within the specified time frame.

Each manuscript received for review must be treated as confidential material. Reviewers must not disclose the manuscript or any information derived from it to third parties, nor use it for their own research without the explicit consent of the editorial board.

Reviewers are required to notify the editorial board of any suspected plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, or significant overlap with other published works.

If a reviewer feels unqualified to review a manuscript, is unable to meet the deadline, or identifies a conflict of interest, they must promptly inform the editorial board and decline the review.

5. Handling of Ethical Misconduct and Final Provisions

The editorial board of the journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia  is obliged to thoroughly and transparently investigate any suspicion of publication ethics violations, including cases involving already published articles. Procedures for handling ethical misconduct are conducted in accordance with COPE guidelines and the journal’s internal regulations.

If a breach of ethical principles is confirmed, the editorial board may decide to issue a correction, retract the article, publish a notice of ethical misconduct, or take other appropriate measures.

This Ethical Code is binding for all parties involved in the publication process of the journal Acta Oeconomica Cassoviensia and constitutes an integral part of the journal’s editorial policies.
